The Rajagiri Centre for Behavioural Sciences and Research (RCBSR), the Psychology Department at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, was established in the 2016-17 academic year with the vision of becoming a hub for mental health services and training professionals in the field. The department offers a comprehensive academic pathway with both B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs in Psychology, enriched by hands-on learning in its specialized labs: an undergraduate lab, a neuro-diagnostic lab for postgraduate students, and a PEBL lab for computer-assisted experiments. The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with research projects, internships, workshops, and field trips to prepare students for varied opportunities in psychology. An active global alumni network connects students with experienced professionals worldwide, enhancing both career prospects and knowledge sharing. The department's partnerships with international universities provide significant research and teaching opportunities, fostering global exposure and collaboration.

RCBSR places a strong emphasis on research, with students in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs conducting annual research projects under faculty guidance, resulting in presentations and publications at national and international levels. The faculty themselves have contributed over 40 research publications to reputable journals. Since 2018, RCBSR has expanded its practical training through its Psychiatric and Psychological Clinics, serving the college and surrounding community with mental health services, including three community clinics. Rajagiri’s study abroad programs further amplify these academic and practical experiences, offering students international exposure that broadens their perspectives and skill sets. By engaging with global institutions, students gain cross-cultural insights and research experience that bolster their professional and personal growth, preparing them to thrive in the international psychology landscape.
